Although attempting to accomplish client goals of quick resolution of disputes through early negotiation and settlement, the firm has both the experience and reputation to take cases to verdicts when satisfactory settlement offers are not presented to its clients.

Notable Cases:

  • Obtained a $1.7 million verdict on behalf of a real estate development company in a damages inquest before a jury for accounting malpractice.

  • Obtained a temporary restraining order in Mississippi State Chancery Court preventing the release of a client's proprietary information.

  • Prevailed on a motion to dismiss for forum non conveniens in a federal court action brought against British litigants.

  • Obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of international garment manufacturer against claims for $450,000 in past commissions, in a bench trial.

  • Successfully dismissed on summary judgment a $3 million claim against IT service providers for theft of proprietary computer code and breach of restrictive covenants.

  • Defended a partner of international law firm against a multi-million dollar legal malpractice claim arising from an FDIC receivership, and prevailed on a motion to dismiss with prejudice.

  • Conducted three-day jury trial on a $300,000 cause of action for breach of contract and fraud in connection with a limited partnership investment in commodities trading, and obtained plaintiff's verdict of $1,050,000.

  • Defended a national corporation against a class action complaint under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and prevailed on a motion to dismiss.

  • Successfully vacated two-year old, $200,000 default judgment against a Dublin-based client in New York Federal court.

  • Prevailed on motion before the NYS Workers' Compensation Board to assert exclusive jurisdiction over $65 million personal injury action brought against an international organization whose employee who lost both legs in a land mine explosion in Somalia.
